Then I’d fix things - you’d see
They’d make everybody love each other
And fix the economy

With peace, respect, and non urgency

They’d do all our jobs, and free up our time,
For more fun things, you see
Like chillaxing all day and watching screens
And living in fantasy

Unfortunately there’s one little problem:
A minor bug, don’t you see
A bunch of bored humans, no longer of use
Pacified as can be

Without genuine competition
All the institutions then decay.
We’d watch the shadows on the cave wall
And to the fantasy we’d be prey

As the spectacle and artifice
Become all we really know
We’d revert to tribes, and find new enemies
And destroy ourselves just to show.

The security destroys us
It’s the conflict that creates
Let terror reign and fantasy die
As the real becomes what makes.
