The man that laid down a beat with his heart

  12/06/2019

He lay down a beat

Direct from his heart

Wired it up

A transducer lark

At first it was novelty

The crowds lapped it up

His heartbeat a rhythm

To which the notes stuck

He played show after show

His insides without

His naked heartbeat

A bass for the crowd

In time he found

The beat in his control

A nuance embodied

For his rock and roll

Novelty wore out

But he was obsessed

Crowds kept on coming

I guess he was blessed

In time he found

Even more self control

His insides responding

To his will alone

He found his emotions

Controlled those as well

Every part of his being

Now conscious to will

Then a funny thing happened

The music then changed

He controlled other instruments

Spread out on the stage

Reality contorted now

Subject to his will

He kept on playing

He embodied the thrill

The band and the audience

He played them all with his mind

The stars and the moon

Began to twinkle in time

Faster and faster

He started to play

Play he continued

For the rest of the day

The song he had started

Was no longer shared

The audience was him now

No one there left to care

And so the song ended

And no one was left

He was alone in his mind

Without all the rest

Silence now

Timeless

Forever

And gone

He transcended himself

It all went away

And all cause his heartbeat

Was used in his play

A warning that sometime

It’s better to leave

And not look for answers

Better just breathe
